children making music

Music is a language that everone understands. From the newborn, hearing the first beats of the mother’s heart and being comforted by a parent cooing and humming, to the angelic sounds of an a cappella chorus singing complex melodies.

We all resonate to music. It affects our moods and attitudes, which in turn affect our relationships to others. How many times have you been in a blue mood that changed in an instant because a happy, bouncy song started playing on the radio?

The Family Music Network is dedicated to reaching out and reminding “big kids” to enjoy and express their music, as well as introducing younger ones to the magic of music. In promoting our passion, we speak to groups and organizations about the benefits of music. We share how excercising this gift that we have all been given enriches our lives and the lives of those we contact in our everyday lives.

Remember to “make a joyful noise” every day!

Testimonials
“Parents and children alike will flash a big smile at the sight of the ‘ABZ’s of Musical Instruments’ a most unique and captivation technique of introducing children to music. The dazzling bright colors highlighting the alphabet, as well as the wide selection of instruments, will educate, delight and capture the attention of both parent and child. The extensive glossary of the many unfamiliar instruments adds to the usefulness of the book.” —Johnnie Osburn Dent, Veteran Librarian and Recipient of The New York Times’ Librarian Award 2001 for Outstanding Community Service.
